Also, it’s worth noting that we acknowledge Macs are in fact PCs and as Apple have said in almost every press release: “Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1989s with the Macintosh.” And it’s with this that we’ll dive straight into 4 great reasons why Mac always comes out on top in a battle with their windows brethren, herein referred to as a PC.

The Experience

The experience of a Mac over a windows PC is, simply second to none. How we interact with our computers can result in harmonious atmospheres around the house and the office and let’s face it, Windows 8 was a car crash that probably did the opposite of generate a harmonious atmosphere. Granted, Windows 10 has gone a long way toward fixing the mess left by Windows 8 but there’s still a long way to go.

In contrast, you look at OS X El Capitan. It’s clean, refined, stable and super easy to use which is undoubtedly a better place to spend your time while you’re working on a computer. The trackpad and mouse gestures are an excellent and somewhat superior alternative to what Windows offer and it completes a feel of a top quality system.

For example, on a Mac, you’ll have no problems ever installing any software. The App Store is a central part of the OS and it makes software installation a breeze. You literally sign into the App Store, click on what you want and boom, it’s done. Something else that adds massively to the experience of using a Mac versus a Windows is the updates. On Windows the updates seem to be so frequent when you shut down and they always take ages and ages but on a Mac with the new OS, updates are installed much less frequently and are downloaded in the background whilst you work.

One final note, Hand-Off adds a seamless experience between your iOS devices and your Mac. If you start working on something on your iPhone or iPad, you can pick it up a couple of hours later on your Mac without the need to save or sync anything to a place like Google Drive. This also applies to web searches reminders, map searches and calendar adjustments.

Choice is a Killer

This is something that many of you may not think is a bad thing but if you’re faced with loads of choice, you may find that in fact it’s actually harder to make a decision. For example, if you’re an SEO in Manchester who has been using Windows for years and years and your computer dies out of the blue, you’ve then got a choice to make. If you’ve got ten Windows computers to choose from that are made by 7 different manufacturers but there’s only one Mac, made by the one manufacturer, you’re more likely to go and buy yourself a Mac.

There are literally hundreds of different Windows PCs available on the market but none of them have the one thing that a Mac does and that is the single vision that guides them. They all have slightly different things compared to the next whereas with a Mac, no matter whether you get an iMac, a MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Pro, or Mac Mini, you know that each and every one of them is going to be 99% the same, hence the being guided by one single vision. Apple is constantly coming out with new products for people to try and they have grown in popularity ever since, customers can also sell them to companies that buy electrical products like https://www.backflip.com/sell/MacBook?model=MacBook%20Pro so they have some money behind them to buy the newer models without chucking good products away.

Security

This is something that, for years Mac users have flaunted the invulnerability of their systems in the faces of their Windows brethren, and rightly so. Macs, over the years have continuously shown to suffer less attacks than Windows PCs and by quite a margin. Things are changing somewhat due to internet-based attacks rising and hackers becoming more sophisticated in their approaches but, for the time being, Mac is the safer option.

Mac tends to be safer than Windows because many forms of malware are usually installed on a machine through explicit user action such as the installation of some software that turned out to be dodgy. Most OS X users install less third-party packages as OS X usually comes out-of-the-box with more accessories and software saving Mac users the need to download extras.

Build Quality

Macs are, undoubtedly, expensive but, if you’re after a somewhat simple machine for browsing the internet, doing a spot of online shopping and a little bit of work then a Mac probably isn’t right for you. Get something like a Chromebook instead, they’re handy little devices and they cost a lot less at around 200 or so.

If you’re going to be doing a lot more than the above mentioned things, then a Mac is certainly something to consider. They’re built to the highest standards and with top of the range components, elegant styling and the attention to detail is second to none. If build quality and hardware is something that is high up on your list then a Mac is certainly in a league of its own.
